Stop shooting your TVs, Mormons

Following the digital transition, officials in Utah are apparently worried that people might use their old, useless tvs for shootin' practice. So worried in fact, that they've issued a directive that people, you know, NOT do that:
With the recent switch to all digital television, there are plenty of TVs collecting dust. The BLM warns that electronic devices like TVs, computer monitors and even cell phones potentially toxic elements. If they're not disposed of properly, the devices pose a threat to the environment. Officials say it can cost up to seven-grand to clean-up a shot-up TV set.
Seriously? Seven grand to clean up a TV? I'm clearly in the wrong industry. In lieu of this, I'm officially announcing the closing of bambat so that I can head West and earn my fortune as a TV cleaner-upper. Wish me luck, loyal readers, I leave this land a mere boy but when I return.. I shall be a man.

Alternatively, just stop shooting your TVs, Cleetus.

It's that time, Grandma

Put down the Lorna Doones Ethel, you're going to want to hear this one.

Attention octogenarian readers of bambat: Today is the day you've long been dreading. That's right, by 12:01AM Saturday (that's 00:01, for those of you still on military time from the Great War) the switch from analog to digital will be completed. If you've been living under a rock and are unsure what this means for you, I would recommend using the google to find out how to get a converter box.

For the rest of you, continue living as you have for the past decade plus.

RETURN OF CHARLIE PACE? ACTUAL NEWS

MONAGHAN NOT ON LOST- As I reported earlier, ABC promos are not trustworthy sources for casting rumors. (Shocking!) It seems there are no plans for the hobbit to return to the island. Instead, he's been cast as a series regular on a yet to be named ABC show. Stay tuned for that scoop whenever we see it on some commercial.

OBAMA IS THREATENING- And not just our redneck way of life. He's very concerned that we won't be ready for the digital transition, set to take place on June 12. When reached for comment, the parts of America who weren't ready yet said, "It's really hard to care since According to Jim got canceled."

NPH PICKS UP TONY (AWARDS)- Friend of the blog, Neil Patrick Harris (if I say it enough, it might come true), hosted the Tony Awards on Sunday and lifted the show to it's highest ratings in 3 years. No word on whether this will cause CBS to move forward with a new version of King of Queens.

What? It's just a screenshot from the official show of bambat, How I Met Your Mother. Nothing gay about that.
