Two days ago, I posted a "news" item from Variety about My Name is Earl possibly being picked up by TBS. Today, the big story is that all the conjecture and chatter turned out to be just that. 20th Century Fox released a statement.
While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series.I don't know about you, but nothing says artistic integrity like sombreros, big glasses, and fake moustaches. This is the worst news for My Name is Earl fans since the Wal Mart got robbed.
